Our Story:
The United Music Charity Foundation of Kansas City was founded by Rick Estes in 2003, in response to the budget cuts in the KCMO school districts hitting Music and Arts education. We feel that every child deserves a chance to be involved with music.
We are now in our third year working with the Hilltop, McCune, Fort Osage, and Scott Greening Schools as well as the Black Archives of Mid America, providing after school and summer programs for their students.
Our Dream:
First and foremost, the foundation was created with the dream that every child should have the opportunity to explore the fields of music and art.
While the opportunity to do this within the public school systems is on a downward spiral, UMCF has designed multiple programs to pick up where the public schools have left off.
We are an ongoing art intervention strategy team who will provide multiple venues for the instruction, development, and performance of Kansas City youth.
